Dental hygiene
Oral health always starts with prevention. The World Health Organization recommends seeing a dentist every 6 months to diagnose diseases and perform professional oral hygiene. The procedure allows you to get rid of dental plaque and avoid many diseases.
What Are Dental Plaques Dangerous?
Dental plaque (hard and soft) has a negative impact on the condition of the gums. They cause bacteria to proliferate. The result is that the gums can become inflamed. It can cause bleeding, redness, soreness, and bad breath. If you don't see a doctor in time, the inflammation will worsen, and the teeth may become movable, and periodontitis and periodontal disease develop. Such diseases are easier to prevent than to treat later. That is why it is necessary to have a professional dental hygiene regularly. We invite everyone to undergo a professional hygiene treatment at ArtStom Clinic in Prague, Czech Republic. Thanks to modern equipment our patients get rid of dental plaque quickly and efficiently, without damaging the external tissues of the tooth.
Stages of dental hygiene
First, the doctor stains the teeth with a special solution, which clearly shows the different types of dental plaque. They come in hard and soft, supra- and sub-gingival, light and dark. And each type requires its own method of removal. The procedure involves several steps. First, the specialist gently removes tartar with an ultrasonic scaler with nozzles of different shapes.
Then the pigmented dark plaque is removed using an "Air flow" device. Thanks to the fine granules of powder that are dispensed from the nozzle with a stream of water, deposits can be removed even from tooth surfaces that are difficult to reach. As with the scaler, this procedure is not harmful to the enamel.
After that, the specialist carefully polishes each tooth for a few minutes with special pastes and brushes. This will reduce the intensity of plaque formation in the future. In the final stage, a special gel is applied to strengthen the enamel of the teeth and reduce the sensitivity.
Then our specialist will give useful recommendations, which will allow the patient to keep the results for a long time. For example, not to eat colorful food for the next 24 hours.
Are there any contraindications?
The procedure itself has no contraindications. But there are restrictions on the use of some devices. For example, it is not recommended to use the ultrasound scaler if you have a cardiac pacemaker. In the presence of bronchial asthma, using "Air flow" is also not safe. To avoid complications after an oral hygiene treatment, our doctors carefully question patients about any chronic diseases. With this approach, the risk of side effects is minimal.
Teeth Whitening
If you wish, you can also have your teeth whitened at our clinic.
Professional hygiene helps brighten your teeth, but if you would like your smile to be even more attractive ArtStom Clinic can offer you teeth whitening with a Prevdent lamp. This technology involves applying a special substance to your teeth when exposed to the light of a lamp. The amount of gel is adjusted depending on the sensitivity of your teeth or the intensity of bleaching. The procedure is safe and painless. It allows you to get the results you want in just one visit.
